About the Brand:
Freedom and surrender, Logic and emotions, Intensity and tenderness, Strength and love.
We at Saaksha & Kinni have always been fascinated with the perceived ideas of masculinity and femininity, of how we carry each in varying ratios within us. And through our designs, we imagine these ideas into styles that would tell your personal story.
Driving inspiration from the singularly homegrown technique of using dulled metal sheets are woven through intricate threadwork, our constant endeavor is to give the ridiculously handsome karigari from our country, a distinct global voice, But we do it our way.
The embroidery takes on a darker, edgier mood; the prints pack a punch without sacrificing their restraint; the colors run deep; there is a tinge of whimsy; and the old world badla makes a new-age appearance.
The woman ‘Saaksha & Kinni’ – the label – creates for is unafraid to explore her feminine-meets-fierce side, all the while keeping it luxe boho. Nothing’s unassuming here. It’s layered, enigmatic, even at times surprising. And yet comfortable, playful, and easy. Quite like us. Quitelike many women we know.

At Saaksha & Kinni, some of our earliest memories involve being bundled up in a car with the family and set off on the open road to distant lands where we knew no one and no one knew us. Each of us, Saaksha + Kinni, have had massively
different life journeys and yet, that’s the one thing that’s tied us together: That wherever in our motherland, India, we’ve been, we’ve carried that place in us forever. And for this collection, we are putting together those happy memories
from crisscrossing the country into a collection that’s as nomadic as our early lives have been.
What has emerged then is our obsession with long winters spent in Gujarat and Rajasthan, appearing here through the dark and abstract floral prints and the rampant micro pleating running through our pieces. Pair them with pieces sporting
the checkered prints we saw on lungis during our many adventures in Tamil Nadu down south, and you will realize why borders and boundaries are often just constructed in our head. As always, we do this all our way, with our signature
digital prints and an unafraid juxtaposition of the masculine with the feminine.
The cotton silks and organzas of our daytime memories mix with the wintry nights with new friends we made everywhere, which is where the lush velvets and the brocades come in. Since memories work better in colour, we’ve tinted this
collection with burgundies, pinks, mustards, and blues.
As you slip into a nómada piece, all we hope for you is to look inward at the happiest days of your lives, recall them and relive them — just with a little help.
